Dangling from her jowls were two adders and a luscious black bat hanging barely in her grip by its right wing. To most other cats, these would be less than appealing, but they were delicious to the cats of her clan. The rays of red sunlight from a blood-like sunset made her fur appear to be different shades of chocolate like the bark of pine or the fur of a havana rabbit. The camp was bustling with activity before she left to hunt, but now it was fairly quiet; she guessed that most of the cats were out in the evening patrols by now, so with a purr she dropped her catch onto the fresh-kill pile.
She then sat back and began to lick and chew the wear of the day out of her tortoiseshell fur. Night was fast approaching, and she could almost hear her nest calling for her already. Darkfeather extended her right hind leg and began to wash that next, then she moved on to her ears. Licking her paws rapidly, she brought them each up and over her ears. It lasted for several minutes until she felt satisfied with the way her skin felt underneath her fur. Then, looking at one of the adders she brought in, her stomach growled and then she wondered if Kestrelstar had eaten yet or if she should bring something to her. Determinedly, as if she had made some big decision, the she-cat picked up the biggest of the two adders and trotted off to her sister's den with it.
The den seemed quiet. So quiet that she wasn't sure if Kestrelstar was even inside, but she knew not to enter without being invited first. So she placed the adder at her paws, "Kestrelstar, I brought you some food if you're hungry," she called out with a purr.

There had been a time where she would always join patrols, always join hunting parties, or join festivities in the camp. Though, all she considered for the moment was her lack of sleep lately. She had been heading out into the forest at night, when all of the other cats in her clan were asleep, just to watch the stars as they gleamed overhead. So, she had been resting a lot in her den as of late, a bit worn out from her excursions. Of course, she always hunted while she was out, bringing back at least one piece, sometimes none, for the Clan.
So, as of now, she was asleep, resting up for the night ahead of her. She was going to quest for two birds tonight, at the least, and maybe get something small for herself. After all, Boulderclan was the one most important to her, and Kestrelstar would not wish that any other way.
In her dream, it seemed to be hazy, barely making out the shapes of the ones in front of her. Trees seemed to be nothing more than blots, and as she ran, the mouse always keeping a foxlength in front of her, she couldn't help but feel something was wrong. Soon enough, the muse soon morphed into a fox, the one that killed her mother. Oh, it would soon pay for what it did. All she had to do was aim for the throat, bring her claws down its neck-
Kestrelstar, I brought you some food if you're hungry.
".. 'uh?" Shaking her head from the dream after hearing her sister's voice, Kestrelstar shook the moss that clung to her pelt off of her, trying to make herself presentable. It sounded like her sister, Darkfeather, and- oh, food? Blinking as she got to her paws, the tortoiseshell she-cat started for the entrance to her den, allowing a purr to slide past her throat, loud enough to be heard.
"Oh, Darkfeather! Yes, I suppose I am a bit famished. Why don't you come in?" she asked, a pleased expression crossing her features. Oh, this could keep her mind off of her dream, yes indeed.
